New Tech Toy: Sony Rolly!

A bit off topic, but this one is a really cool toy. Its an mp3 player like no other. Why? Because it does more than just playing mp3s! Check it out for yourself.

Hmmm... i must say the tune in the video is a bit lame,
but i really wonder how it reacts to some hiphop or even house music for that matter!!

Have a great day!

Reminiscing "The Gathering"...

It was a Saturday, the 15th of March 2008. The setup was minimal, yet exquisite. UV lights only, with the branches of trees lined with UV reactive wool. And to top it all off, it was located by the river side!! The party began at around 9.30pm. The DJs were DJ Su-G, DJ Clinton, DJ eX(surprise!!) and myself(not on the poster). The highlight of the party was House music. DJ Su-G started off and played some of my favorites.. with Pryda's Europa still buzzing in my ears, he played a great set! And then came DJ Clinton who played some electro house. Was a good uplifting set too. Last came me. I played Psy-trance which is not really my forte, but it was a great party so what the heck! :D The night ended at 3.30am and my ears were still buzzing till morning with the night's tunes... The Gathering was a great party. Yes, it did have a few problems getting up to start(thanks to the rain), but went on pretty well. Lets just hope we have more House parties coming from our R.U. group.

Why Mangalore isn't "happening" in terms of Clubbing?

Well, anyone who has been to clubs in Mumbai or Bangalore(Well, atleast before the 11pm curfew was thought off!!) must have definitely noticed that Mangalore is far from it! (Notice i did not say Goa! Goa is a different league.) Why? Well, one might first stand up and say aloud "Mangalore hasn't got the crowd for it." Hmmmm... personally i think Mangalore has the crowd for it, but in much limited numbers. What our city lacks is a taste for good music. It lacks a fine set of DJs. And ofcourse, the clubs here lack what it takes to get that kind of crowd. The society around us looks at clubs like its some kind of an evil place to be. Well, again, the kind of crowd that we see in clubs are often responsible for making the women uncomfortable. Why is this happening? Is there no solution? Back in the 80s, i've heard, the club scene in M'lore was great and there used to be "Couples Only" nights at the Night Flight Club on Saturdays. But today? Forget it. There has to be some solution to this. There are so many among us who would love to have a bouncin' house party... so why cant we make it happen? I'm always wondering... Any thoughts?

Am I Audible?

Hello and Welcome to "Am I Audible?", My blog for the love of House Music and DJing.
Today's a Saturday and Saturday's the day for some hardcore partying! Hence, today i'm officially launching this blog!

Who Am I?
I'm Aditya Prabhu and i'm a huge fan of EDM (Electronic Dance Music). I'm also a DJ by hobby and i go by the spin name DJ Adi. I play Progressive, Tech, Electro and Funky House music. More info about myself in my profile.

What's this blog all about?
Two words: House Music! Well, Mangalore as we know is a small city with lots of potential in all areas of development. And a small such area is the club scene- The EDM scene- The House Music scene. Hence, i would like to take the initiative to start a blog for all who love House Music and would like to gather more info about it and stay up to date with the latest in club music. Help Mangalore stand its place in today's EDM scene.

EDM? What's that?
EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music and is a genre of music. Its sub-genres are House, Techno and Trance music. Being an avid fan of House music, i love this particular sub-genre more than the other forms of EDM. There's loads of info on these genres of music on Wikipedia.

There's More!!
Yes there's a lot more to this blog than just that. I will be posting latest charts for House Music and you can discuss anything about House Music and more here. I will also be posting my complete mixed sets for download every month with tracklists!

Please Note: Do not expect any links to download any free and full releases here. There will not be any links for illegal download of music allowed here. For that, look elsewhere. My mixes will be posted as links and can be downloaded free of cost. They are copyright of DJ Adi and the files will be hosted on a separate fileshare server.

Time for Lift-Off!!!
Best Regards,
DJ Adi
