Why Mangalore isn't "happening" in terms of Clubbing?
Well, anyone who has been to clubs in Mumbai or Bangalore(Well, atleast before the 11pm curfew was thought off!!) must have definitely noticed that Mangalore is far from it! (Notice i did not say Goa! Goa is a different league.) Why? Well, one might first stand up and say aloud "Mangalore hasn't got the crowd for it." Hmmmm... personally i think Mangalore has the crowd for it, but in much limited numbers. What our city lacks is a taste for good music. It lacks a fine set of DJs. And ofcourse, the clubs here lack what it takes to get that kind of crowd. The society around us looks at clubs like its some kind of an evil place to be. Well, again, the kind of crowd that we see in clubs are often responsible for making the women uncomfortable. Why is this happening? Is there no solution? Back in the 80s, i've heard, the club scene in M'lore was great and there used to be "Couples Only" nights at the Night Flight Club on Saturdays. But today? Forget it. There has to be some solution to this. There are so many among us who would love to have a bouncin' house party... so why cant we make it happen? I'm always wondering... Any thoughts?

Well i think the main problem is..most of the mangalorean guys are hypocrites..n the ppl are too narrow minded..they wont jus accept the idea of partying very easily..
I agree things are better than before but gains clubbing-wise, seems to be a very difficult task
hey adi!!
u have got some interesting and different stuff about music!!nice i must say :) and abt mangalore becoming a partying hub,i think it can happen although it might be a distant reality!!
Well as for your comments about Bangalore..
it's really dull here.. no dancing allowed in the town :P
and it takes time for a town to become happening.. also depends on the kind of tourists the town attracts.. with so many religious places around Mangalore it's obviously attracting a lot of such crowd..
and it'll take a lot of initiatives from music enthusiasts to host parties give people feel of some good music.. you'll be doing social service in the field of House music :P and hang in there.. it'll surely get better
for starters d only so called 'happenin' clubs r in manipal...n even dey r stuck to house tracks tat r like more than a couple of yrs old..!!...v need new house music ppl...!!!!!
Hehe if thats what you think about Mangalore, I cant wait to read what you think about Manipal's "clubbing scene" :P
